Black and White Update

So as most of you know, I've been taking a Black and White photography class. It's going considerably well so far. I love every step of the process. Fun/attractive photo lab guys have definitely enhanced the experience. Also, I apologize for my lack of rotatedness. You're just going to have to tilt your head to the left (and cough).

This first series of 4 photos is a comic strip made up of photograms. Very fun project. I have to give some credit to Trip for letting me use some of his legos.

This next photo is the very first one I ever printed. It was quite a feat, actually, considering my first roll of film got fogged.

A night of insomnia lead me to baking some cookies at 3am, so I decided to take some pictures of them.

The next two shots were for a project we had to do with shooting motion. The first one is my friend Colleen. I tried to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion. The second one is a random little girl on the playground who I creepily took pictures of. I used a panning technique to put the girl in focus while capturing the motion of her swing by blurring the area behind her.

And last, but certainly not least, are a few shots I took at the butterfly garden. We all know how I feel about butterflies. Check out the colored digital images of these on my Facebook if you're interested.

Harry Potter and Butterflies

Today, Jennifer and I went to the Museum of Science because it was the last day of Harry Potter: The Exhibition. I am now the proud owner of a replica of Hermione's wand. :D It was freakin awesome. I wish I could have taken pictures, but we weren't allowed. So many cool props and costumes from the movie, and lots of fun facts. We didn't spend too much time in the other parts of the museum. But featured below here is the new friend we made. I think he's making that sad face because someone shaved two spots of fur off of his forehead. I'd be pretty pissed, too.

We weren't allowed to take pictures in the actual exhibit, but this is from right outside. They also had a super awesome sorting hat, and before they let you in the doors, they picked two volunteers to sit on a stool and get sorted. It was AWESOME.

Of course, we had to visit the butterfly garden. I took an entire roll of B&W in there, too. So excited to develop on Tuesday. The little guy right below here was obviously hungry.

PDA

I have been sitting in the cafeteria for the past hour and a half, doing my online math homework since the internet in our house is on the fritz. I have not, however, been able to complete an assignment because I'm sitting across from the most disgusting case of PDA I have ever seen in my life. It's like a car accident- loud, tragic, may result in lots of blood, and could potentially induce some vomit from its witnesses. I would include a photo, but I figured at least some people should be allowed to hold down their breakfast.

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be in the ladies room, puking up my Special K.

Pocomo Larry Bruin Bennett

The newest addition to the Bennett family. Santa brought this little guy for Smelly for Christmas. He's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. He was a little shy at first, but he's really starting to warm up. Cisco, however, is not a fan.

Dad and Junior

I've been spending the past week and a half at home in Maryland with my mother, and decided to take a trip to Pennsylvania for a few days while I'm down this way to visit some friends and family from there, including my late father and brother. The snow just looked so beautiful laying there on his headstone, I thought I would share. Dad doesn't have his own headstone (yet), but he's right there next to his son, which is where he always wanted to be.

Dad used to bring me here every weekend I was with him. He did the etchings in the above picture himself.

never too old for a bubble bath

We've moved into our new house in Wellesley, and word got out that Mom and Dad's bath tub has jets :)
